Fear tells women that we are NOT:
- Smart enough
- Talented enough
- Worth enough
- Respected enough
- Valued enough
And when we believe that fear, we MISS OUT on so much.
Think about the last business or investing opportunity you had in front of you that you didn’t take.
It’s FEAR that held you back––whether it was specifically about your money, time, capability, or confidence.
When women in business are governed by fear, we don’t make as much money as we could if we showed up with courage.
We know that more money in the hands of more women is a powerful, good thing for the WORLD! But when we have a fearful spirit, we miss out on the opportunity to generate more WEALTH and use that money to do more GOOD.
Fear keeps you from showing up in the rooms you should be in, holds you back from building valuable networks and connections you should be building, and keeps you playing SMALL.
And that’s exactly what the enemy wants. Fear will always get in the way of God’s BLESSINGS and RUIN the generous, beautiful plans God has for your life, business, relationships, health, and wealth.
How to overcome a spirit of fear
Let me tell you about my friend, Tresa Todd.
Tresa grew up with a strong spirit of fear. Her family operated in fear, and she learned from a young age to be afraid of everything –– the dark, people, being noticed.
She would go shopping and buy beautiful clothes she loved, but would never wear them because she was afraid of standing out. Tresa wouldn’t talk to people or put herself in social situations because of her overwhelming fear.
But when she was in her early 20s, Tresa read a book that opened her eyes and showed her just how fearfully she had been living her life. She called out to God to deliver her from fear, and within 3 months, she realized the fear had left her spirit.
She felt braver, lighter, and more capable than ever. God was FAITHFUL. He took Tresa’s fear from her, and she began living life much more fully, willing to travel alone and jump out of planes and live the way she knew God wanted her to live.
When Tresa asked God to rescue her from her fear, she felt Him give her Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
She BELIEVED God’s word and she RECEIVED God’s promise.
And you can, too!
3 steps to jumpstart wealth-building for women in business
If you want to rid your spirit of fear, the way Tresa did, you need to follow these 3 simple steps.
- BELIEVE God’s word.
- ASK God to follow through on His promises.
- ACT IN FAITH that God has delivered you.
Scripture is God’s prophecy, and everything in scripture is available to us if we BELIEVE it, SPEAK it, and ASK God for it.
Tresa CONTINUED to show up and live her life with the strength and courage God had called her to live by.
Because she believed God was with her wherever she went, she had the courage to listen to her sons’ advice, sell her home and leave her career in the medical field at age 50, and move to a new city to begin a new career in real estate investing.
It wasn’t easy. Even though Tresa had trusted God’s plans for her for decades, she still had to rely on Him for the strength to take what looked like a crazy step to those around her.
But when you truly LISTEN to what God is telling you and STEP OUT IN FAITH… He always comes through.
Tresa kept her eyes on GOD’s PLAN for her life instead of being distracted by the disbelief and judgment of those around her…
And within 30 days of starting her real estate investing career, she had made ⅓ of her ANNUAL salary.
Within the first 4 months, she made MORE than she had in her 401(k) after TWENTY-FIVE YEARS of contributing to it.
Her entire life changed because she was willing to LISTEN to God and ACT in faith.
When you follow these 3 steps, you WILL see God’s BLESSINGS pour out.
