My daughter, Reagan, heads off to college this fall. And while I know that ‘the key to moving forward is letting go,’ that doesn’t make it any easier. Listen in as I explain what we’re doing to stay close as a family, navigating both grief and excitement as we transition into this new season!
“The key to moving forward is letting go.
We cannot grab hold of our future if we’re still clinging on to our past.”
This sentiment stings a bit for me right now, as our daughter, Reagan, graduates from high school and heads off to college.
But what can parents do to move through the grief we’re experiencing in the midst of the excitement and celebration?
On this episode of The Live Out Loud Show, I explain what Brett and I are doing to honor our daughter and send her to college with love and encouragement.
I discuss how we’re setting aside intentional time to visit Reagan at school and share my practice of repenting when I feel worried or anxious and reminding myself that God is in control.
Listen in to understand the benefit of praying over your kids and learn how to navigate the transition into a new level of relationship with your adult children and remain close as a family!
